Loved this article. Funny how the sense of hearing seems much more vibrantly connected and reactive with the nervous systems than others. It may have something to do with the dense quality sound can have-feeling a bass note in your chest or an opera singer's voice ringing in your ear after they have stopped singing. Even though it's invisible, we certainly feel it!
Dorky, but I used to want to be a neuroscientist. I bought a giant neuroscience textbook to read for fun, and I still do occasionally. The brain is amazing.
